Frequently Asked Questions

Which material alloys are compatible with Area Printing? â€‹

All meltable material is feasible with Area Printing, although our initial focus is on metal, with the more common alloys initially targeted by our customers, such as Steels, Nickels and reactive materials such as Aluminum and Titanium. All of our material and parameter development is customer-driven and begins after a production slot has been booked in our Area Printing Production (APP) Program and secured through a commercial agreement.

What kinds of material properties can customers expect with Area Printing?

We have exceeded ASTM standards in 316L SS and achieved best-in-class surface roughness and density. As we scale in size and speed, Area Printing offers a unique ability to maintain or improve mechanical properties, surface roughness, along with dimensional accuracy and precision.
