​What kind of 3D printing process is Area Printing?

​Area Printing is a Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) process.

​Which material alloys are compatible with Area Printing? ​

​Our immediate focus is on metal, but all meltable material is feasible with Area Printing. Our development roadmap is entirely customer-driven with most common steel, nickel and aluminum alloys (with some other, more novel materials) already in development.​

What is the build size of Seurat’s 3D printers? 

​Our Gen 1 system is 450 mm x 450 mm x 450 mm (xyz), our Gen 2 system will scale to 1.2m x 1.2m x 1.2m (xyz) and we plan to get much larger after that. See the table on Area Printing for more details.

How fast is the Area Printing process?

​Area Printing is 10x more productive than today’s LPBF process and our vision is that our Gen 2 system will be 100x more productive.

​In order to benefit from the economics of our Area Printing process, we focus on high-volume contract manufacturing.
